13th May 2013 - Charles Darwin National Park

Given that we didn't have a lot of time this afternoon, Justin, Rob, and I decided to head out to Charles Darwin National Park to check out where Rob and I will be spending our first all day trek on the 1st of June.

Charles Darwin National Park is an amazing bit of bushland a stones throw away from the Darwin CBD with walking and off road biking trails. It also has a great picnic area but be warned, you'll need to bring insect repellent as you are bound to get eaten by midgies.

All up our hike took us over the distance of 3.96km which isn't bad considering that we only had an hour to do it all. Given that the National Park backs onto mangroves, the urge to explore was too much to handle as we found ourselves in and out of mangroves, bush land, and along both bike and walking tracks.

More to come in the next couple of weeks as we push on towards the fist 100kms traveled.
